As of Wednesday, December 31, 2025, the application period for the 2026 regular admissions (Ga/Na/Da tracks) at Incheon National University (President: In-jae Lee) has closed. A total of 6,747 applicants applied for 913 available places, including positions carried over from early admissions, resulting in an overall average competition rate of 7.39:1, the highest in the past three years.

Incheon National University has shown a continuous upward trend in competition rates for regular admissions over the past three years through the 2026 admissions cycle. This year again, despite various variables affecting the admissions process, the university maintained its rising competition rate in regular admissions.

By admissions type, the competition rates were as follows. For the general admission (within quota), the rates were 6.64:1 in the Ga track (412 places), 5.73:1 in the Na track (67 places), and 8.65:1 in the Da track (296 places). For special admissions (outside quota), the opportunity-based admission recorded 6.19:1 in the Ga track and 12.45:1 in the Da track; the rural student admission recorded 5.90:1 in the Ga track and 10.79:1 in the Da track; and the specialized high school graduate admission recorded 5.83:1 in the Ga track and 5.89:1 in the Da track.

Looking at major departments under the general admission track, in the Ga track, the Department of Korean Language and Literature recorded the highest competition rate at 28.33:1, followed by the Division of Sports Science at 14.74:1 and the Department of Bio-Robot System Engineering at 12.30:1. In the Da track, the Department of Performing Arts recorded the highest rate at 55.50:1, followed by the Environmental Engineering major at 12.57:1 and the Department of Mathematics at 12.00:1.

Document submission is due by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026 (postmark accepted), and applicants must carefully check the admissions guidelines before submission. The first round of successful applicants for the 2026 regular admissions will be announced on Monday, February 2, 2026. As there will be no individual notifications, applicants must check their results directly on the university website. Successful applicants must pay the registration fee between 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3 and 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026; failure to do so will result in automatic cancellation of admission. Additional admissions results will be announced from Thursday, February 5 through Thursday, February 12, 2026.
